Eazipay

A Simple Payment Solution for Small Businesses

Role

Sole UI/UX Designer

Industry

FinTech

Duration

3 months

🚀 Overview

Eazipay is a fintech platform that enables small and micro businesses to manage payroll, invoices, and inventory in one unified system.

I led the end-to-end product design from research to high-fidelity execution, collaborating with business managers, product managers, and engineers to deliver a scalable MVP.

❗ Problem

Small businesses rely on fragmented tools and manual processes to manage core operations like payroll, invoicing, and inventory.

This resulted in:

  • Time-consuming workflows

  • High error rates in payments and records

  • Poor visibility into employee and financial data

  • No automation for recurring processes

🎯 Goal

Design a simple, unified platform that allows users to:

  • Run payroll seamlessly

  • Manage invoices and payments

  • Track inventory efficiently

  • Automate repetitive tasks

🧠 My Role & Ownership

  • Owned the end-to-end design process (research → delivery)

  • Defined UX strategy, product structure, and core flows

  • Led collaboration across business, product, and engineering

  • Translated user needs into scalable product solutions

🔍 Research

Methods

  • User surveys with small business owners

  • Competitive analysis (fintech & payroll tools)

  • Affinity mapping

Key Insights

  • Payroll processes were complex and stressful

  • Users needed automation (scheduling, reminders)

  • Transaction flows were too long → causing friction

  • Limited visibility into employee/payment data reduced trust

💡 Key Decisions

Based on research, I introduced:

  • Simplified payroll flow with fewer steps

  • Flexible payroll setup (manual vs automated)

  • Central dashboard for quick access to actions

  • Automated invoice reminders

  • Streamlined transaction flows

  • Improved information architecture

Design Exploration

Ideation

Finally, after I found out the pain points to work on and I started a brainstorming exercise to identify a better way to provide a solution to the issues the users were encountering and had pointed out during the interviewing processes. My ideas were:

  1. Quick access to the major activities right from the Home.

  2. Automatic reminders are sent for invoices past the due date.

  3. Option for users to either manually set the payroll or make use of a default format.

  4. Ability to assign staff to an already existing payroll.

  5. One-click "Send Receipt" flow for paid invoices.

  6. Special attention was given to the Information architecture of the application, similar features were grouped together to ensure easy use of the mobile application.

I had a meeting with the team on the project to go through my findings with them and recommended solutions to ensure everyone was on board with it including the developers.

Information Architecture

Before sketching and designing, we came together to decide on features and pages that would be more valuable for users based on the research found. Below is the structure of the platform we ended up agreeing on.

Sketches and Brainstorming

To gain a better understanding of how the platform would work and have some understanding of the flow, I sketched pages to better illustrate it, this also allows for many leading iterations through varying design options.
